FAQ About the Hennig Saddle
Now here are some frequently asked questions:
Since all saddlemakers widths vary (i.e. a Medium Stubben maybe a MW Passier) we use a visual method. Please refer back to www.legendhillhanoverians.com where you will see a hand placed between the panels of the saddle. Then using this method compare it with your present saddle that fits the horses. **Again please note these saddles can be adjusted and we would ask that you contact http://www.schleese.com to speak to a local representative Before you make a commitment to a saddle
New Hennig sell for over $6200 with an extended wait. Our prices vary since they are used, but we can save you over $1500-2,500 for saddles in very good to excellent condition). The reason we began selling Hennigs was that when I started the search for a Hennig for my newly imported mare, I couldn't locate a good used Hennig. Since I frequently travel to Germany and have many contacts there, it seemed that we could fill a need for many riders. I have many riders waiting for Hennigs of all sizes and widths; that do not want to purchase a new one. This is why our saddles usually sell before they reach the US.
Yes, the tree can be adjusted. Schleese can do it, but it must be seen by a representative saddle fitter. They have clinics and reps all over the country. If you call them they can tell you how you can reach a representative in your area. Here is their website http://www.schleese.com
Shouldn't be a problem. Hennigs are made to be altered. Hennig designs the saddles so that as a horse matures and develops obviously his muscling will increase. The tree is designed to adjust to the horses development. Again a Schleese representative will be your best contact.
We try to ask enough questions of the rider/buyer to eliminate a poor fit.
We suggest that you ride in a Hennig belonging to a friend or trainer, and then check the width visually with the photo we have sent. These saddles usually sell with in 1-3 days.
We offer 2 week trials, from ship date to return. Pick up Local trials are 3 days.
Here is payment policy. Once we have determined that the saddle and rider and horse are all a good match; we will accept half the price of the saddle as deposit. Once the saddle arrives into the US, I contact the buyer. We can use PayPal (they charge a 3% fee) or we can use wire transfer (fees are $15 per transaction from each bank).
shipping and insurance.... $60

The more specific your needs other than of course size and width, the less likelihood that we will be able to find your saddle. Every saddle that we import has been custom made for the original rider, so no two saddles are alike. Please check our website to see how each saddle is different. If you require certain leather, age, and design we suggest you get fitted for a custom Hennig. We will however put you in our data bank and contact you when the size and width are found. Review the saddle description and if the saddle is "close enough" to your desires, then contact us immediately. Please remember that the saddles are in high demand and they last only a few hours before others in your size range will make the commitment to the saddle. **** on a personal note... I ride in a Brown Hennig... would I prefer a Black? Absolutely, however the saddle fits my horse and myself perfectly, so I made a concession and bought the Brown Hennig.... I too did not wish to buy a full priced Hennig.. so it is all a personal preference.
Sure, if you are in the VA Bch area or Norfolk area no problem. Full deposit will be accepted.
We will allow a trial outside the area. Trial Policy will be online soon!
We are only buying Used Hennigs and are trying to keep the price at least $2K less than New. Occasionally we find an exception saddle and price it accordingly. Of course the $ - Euro is not helping, but for now this is our plan. New Hennigs are over $6200 and the wait is 6-9 months for custom made.
Regarding payment: We accept wire transfers($15 per transaction apply) or PayPal. Pay Pal charges are 3%
