When I arrived, the staff at Sterling Meadows was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. I appreciated the fact that Debra didn’t have “Admiral” saddled, prepped, and ready to go. I got an opportunity to do the things necessary before riding which included some basics in daily horse care.

I am 52 years old, and I've always had a fascination with horses, but have ridden only sporadically on a few trail rides throughout my life. Until I met Debra, at Sterling Meadows, I'd never even seen a horse being groomed and saddled. Debra demonstrated the steps involved in preparing a horse for riding and allowed me that hands-on experience. In this process, I became familiar and comfortable with the horse, Admiral, and I even began to overcome my fear of maneuvering around a horse -- a fear which had manifested itself in my childhood. During the riding portion of the lesson, Debra taught me the importance of the connection between rider and horse, and I felt a real desire to develop that connection and learn more. (I've actually had dreams about riding Admiral!) I am very excited about taking more lessons from Debra at Sterling Meadows. Thanks, Debra!

As a parent who had 4+ years of experience watching my daughter ride, it was great to get on a horse myself. "Leo" is a beautiful horse and he was kind to me as a beginner. I learned a great deal and I appreciate the time you took to give me some real instruction, not just a "pony ride". Hard to believe I was able to take my first lesson without having reins to hold. Thanks again, I would recommend your program highly for beginners or experienced riders.
